Taylor Swift sets the record straight on online rumors during her appearance on 'Jimmy Fallon'

Taylor Swift addressed various rumors about herself during her appearance on “Tonight’s Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” on Monday.

Before promoting her new album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” Jimmy Fallon brought up some lingering questions. He planned to share five recent rumors and asked Swift to confirm which one was accurate.

The first rumor involved her being turned down for the Super Bowl halftime show due to the NFL not allowing her to own the performance footage. The second rumor suggested that Ed Sheeran, a close friend of hers, found out about her engagement via Instagram.

Another rumor claimed Swift was spotted walking an unknown dog in Florida. The fifth rumor mentioned that Travis Kelce could be heard harmonizing on her new track, “Oparite.”

When it came time for the truth, she clarified that the rumor about Sheeran was indeed true—”He doesn’t have a phone,” she stated.

Although it was previously reported that Swift made a joke about getting to the altar before Selena Gomez, she confirmed that was not accurate. “That’s wrong!” she said. “I gave a speech and made a point about my engagement without saying much.” Swift reflected on their history from when they first met as teenagers, noting how happy she was for Gomez.

This was Swift’s second significant TV appearance since the release of her much-anticipated album, following her time on “The Graham Norton Show” when it debuted last Friday.

In “The Life of a Showgirl,” Swift writes about her romance with Kelce, to whom she became engaged in August.

She initially showcased her new album during a discussion on his “New Heights” podcast, where Kelce provided details about the romantic proposal in his beautifully landscaped backyard in Kansas.

Swift expressed admiration, stating, “He surprised me and really nailed it,” on the Graham Norton Show.

The couple took around two weeks before announcing their engagement publicly, sharing a joint Instagram post featuring photos with the caption highlighting their teachers’ wedding.

The teaser for Swift’s appearance on Fallon’s show included hints about her visit and involved Fallon playing roulette with significant dates related to her.

As he rolled the ball, it landed on 13, which he jokingly referred to as part of show business. The segment ended with Fallon being playfully interrupted by women dressed in flashy showgirl costumes.
