KISS Frontman Gene Simmons in Car Accident
KISS frontman Gene Simmons was reportedly involved in a car accident in Los Angeles on Tuesday after he apparently lost consciousness while driving. The incident occurred on the Pacific Coast Highway.
On Wednesday, Simmons reassured fans via X, stating that he is “perfectly fine” following the mishap. “Thanks everyone for your kind wishes. I’m perfectly fine. A little fender bender. That happens a lot, especially with bad drivers like us. And that’s me. All is well,” he wrote.
According to reports, Simmons informed responding officers that he fainted before crashing into a parked car. Witnesses who saw the accident called 911, prompting police and firefighters to arrive on the scene.
A spokesperson from the Lost Hills Sheriff’s Department confirmed that the crash happened shortly before 1 p.m. in the 25000 block of Pacific Coast Highway. It was initially thought to be a possible medical emergency involving a vehicle that had collided with another parked vehicle.
A preliminary investigation indicated that the driver, described as an adult male, may have experienced a medical issue prior to the incident. He was taken to a local hospital for evaluation.
After the accident, Simmons was hospitalized but has since returned home to recover. His wife, Shannon, told a local news outlet that he dislikes drinking water and had recently started a new medication that likely contributed to his dehydration, causing him to faint.
The crash involved Simmons driving a Lincoln Navigator SUV when he lost consciousness, swerved through several lanes, and eventually struck a parked vehicle. Fortunately, reports suggest that no one was injured as a result of the accident.
