Alexis Ohanian Comments on Stephen A. Smith’s Remarks
Alexis Ohanian, the husband of tennis star Serena Williams, quickly reached out to Stephen A. Smith during an episode of ESPN’s “First Take” on Thursday. This came after Williams appeared in Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl XI halftime show, which stirred up discussions on various sports talk shows regarding her presence there.
Smith’s co-host highlighted the connection between Williams and Lamar, both hailing from Compton. Meanwhile, Shannon Sharpe shifted the focus to a diss track by Lamar aimed at Drake, who had previously been in a relationship with Williams. Smith, in his usual bold style, expressed, “If I’m married and my wife is going to participate in the trolling of her ex, what’s going on? You’re with me now!”
Before “First Take” took a break, Ohanian took a moment to reflect on his marriage to Williams, subtly addressing Smith’s comments. He made a point, saying, “You weren’t married before, right? I often advise founders looking to build substantial companies, and I tend to stick to my lane in that regard.”
Ohanian, widely known as the co-founder of Reddit, has also started the professional women’s track and field series called Athlos. His insights into the pressures of successful entrepreneurship carry weight, especially when discussing relationships in the public eye. It seems both Ohanian and Smith are navigating their worlds with quite different perspectives.
