Kamala Harris Denies Trump a Mandate During Atlanta Visit
In Atlanta on Wednesday, former Vice President Kamala Harris emphasized that President Donald Trump has “no mission,” despite his recent electoral victory in 2024.
This statement emerged as part of her national tour promoting her election memoir, “107 Days,” aiming to reshape perceptions of the upcoming election.
Setting the tone for the 90-minute discussion, she asserted, “He has no mandate,” according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Harris went on to suggest that many of Trump’s supporters have been misled by his promises, stating that he hasn’t delivered on key issues. “I believe there are a significant number of people who voted for Donald Trump because they believed him when he said he would lower prices,” she noted. “And he lied. Today, food prices are rising, unemployment is rising, inflation is rising. He made those promises and hasn’t kept them.”
Since the release of “107 Days” in September, Harris has actively participated in a series of public events, starting with a book tour in New York City and continuing across the nation. Her memoir covers former President Joe Biden’s efforts in 2024 to secure the presidency against Trump.
Throughout her tour, Harris has emphasized two main points: that the latest presidential election was the “closest” in a century and that Trump lacks a “mandate.” During an event in Houston, she asserted, “It’s the closest and closest presidential election of the 21st century. He has no mandate!”
Despite the 2024 election results showing Harris losing both the popular and electoral votes—receiving 75,019,617 votes to Trump’s 77,304,184—she continues to declare the election as “the closest.” “By the way, this is also historic in many ways. This was the closest U.S. presidential election of the 21st century,” she remarked during a visit to Howard University in September.
Harris’s claims reflect a broader effort to combat Trump’s narrative and draw attention to her perspective on the political landscape.
