A stabbing incident occurred on Thursday outside a home in Hollywood Hills that is linked to U2’s lead singer, Bono, as reported.
Authorities arrived at the scene around 1:20 p.m. after getting calls about a possible stabbing victim in the 7800 block of Granito Drive, which is near the residence Bono recently purchased.
The victim was transported to a nearby hospital, where their condition was reported as stable, according to the Los Angeles police.
Law enforcement has stated that a suspect has been apprehended on charges of assault with a deadly weapon.
Aerial images revealed police vehicles stationed outside the upscale property, which features a swimming pool in its backyard.
Bono, whose real name is Paul Hewson, owns several homes in Ireland, including properties in Dublin and Killiney. There were earlier reports that he invested in a $7 million modern mansion situated above the Sunset Strip in 2024.
The area around the Sunset Strip and Hollywood Hills is known for its wealth and close-knit community.
The property linked to Bono is presently undergoing construction. Interestingly, Bono was reportedly out of the country during the stabbing incident.
Insiders mentioned that Bono is among a group of investors involved in this project, which isn’t on the market yet but is expected to be listed later.
Bono, now 65 years old, has a notable net worth estimated at $700 million and seems to be enjoying his retirement while pursuing various passions beyond music.
Though he usually maintains a low profile, he occasionally shares his thoughts on various topics, including everything from music genres to American political matters.
His visibility increased during the Biden administration, particularly when he was invited to events like the State of the Union addressing his commitment to addressing HIV/AIDS and poverty. He received the Presidential Medal of Freedom from Biden just before the latter left office.
