Call for an End to Political Violence
Conservative podcaster Benny Johnson is urging an end to political violence, particularly in light of threats directed at his family after the recent assassination of Charlie Kirk. He’s questioning how many more conservatives need to be attacked before Democrats take action.
“We need to say enough is enough,” Johnson remarked during an appearance on “Saturday in America.” He believes Democrats should acknowledge the issues within their party and strive for peace rather than appoint individuals who perpetuate violence.
His comments came after he received a disturbing letter detailing threats against him and his children. Johnson stood next to Attorney General Pam Bondi, who announced the arrest of the person responsible for the threats. “A man has been charged with threatening my family, killing me, killing my children,” he stated during an interview.
Johnson pointed out that Jay Jones, a candidate for Virginia Attorney General, has made similar violent remarks, including calls for the murder of Republicans and their families. He criticized Democrats for not speaking out against Jones, suggesting that this contributes to a troubling atmosphere.
Jones is facing scrutiny after violent text messages he sent in 2022 targeting the former House Speaker resurfaced. Many Republicans, including Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin, argue that the silence from Democrats about Jones reflects deeper issues within their party.
Johnson expressed a desire for constructive discussion, saying, “This is a party that’s spiraling; it’s awful to see them resorting to violence.” He emphasized that this isn’t the future he wants for the country.
“We need to find solutions. When will Democrats say, ‘Enough is enough’? How many lives need to be lost?” he asked, highlighting the urgent need for change.
George Isbell Jr., the individual allegedly behind the threatening letter, was arrested in San Diego and will face federal charges for his actions.
