Trump Hailed for Peace Efforts in Israel
President Trump has been celebrated as a “giant” in Jewish history and recognized as a leading candidate for the Nobel Peace Prize.
“You, President Donald J. Trump, are a giant who will be enshrined in the temples of history thousands of years from now,” said Congress Speaker Amir Ohana, prompting applause. He emphasized Trump’s unparalleled promotion of peace, stating, “Your election as president marks a turning point, not just for the United States but for the entire world.”
Ohana elaborated that Trump has become one of the most impactful presidents, crediting him with saving countless lives through his leadership.
He mentioned that Israel plans to nominate Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize next year, declaring, “There is no one more deserving than you.”
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu referred to Trump as “the greatest friend Israel has ever had in the White House,” expressing immense gratitude for his support in brokering peace in Gaza and securing the release of Israeli hostages. “No American president has done more for Israel,” he stated, adding that such accomplishments were not easily achieved.
Netanyahu underscored the historical significance of Trump’s contributions, saying, “You are already etched in the history of humanity.” He also reaffirmed his commitment to peace, stating, “Together, Mr. President, we will achieve this peace.”
The Prime Minister announced his intention to nominate Trump for the Israel Prize, the nation’s highest cultural honor, in recognition of his efforts in releasing hostages. “Thank you for everything you have done for us,” he said as applause filled the Congress chamber.
Finally, Netanyahu hinted at the Nobel Peace Prize, suggesting it was “only a matter of time” before Trump received it.
This praise follows a significant peace deal brokered by Trump and his team last week, in which Hamas agreed to release 20 hostages and provide the remains of 28 others, who had been held for over two years after being captured during Hamas’s invasion on October 7, 2023.
