Clintons Postpone Testimony in Epstein Investigation

The Clintons have decided to delay their scheduled depositions related to the House Oversight Committee’s investigation into Jeffrey Epstein, a well-known figure associated with serious allegations.

Hillary Clinton, who was meant to testify last week on October 9, didn’t show up. Former President Bill Clinton was also supposed to answer questions regarding his connections to Epstein. However, a spokesperson for the Oversight Committee mentioned on Monday that they are in talks with the Clintons’ legal team to adjust their schedules.

“The deposition will not take place tomorrow,” the spokesperson added, referring to Bill Clinton’s anticipated appearance.

The Clintons were subpoenaed back in August by Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer. This is part of a broader investigation into Epstein and his accomplice, Ghislaine Maxwell.

Comer stated, “The American people want to know what went on at Epstein Island. There are claims that Bill Clinton frequently visited there, and he is, therefore, a key figure in our inquiry.” He discussed the subpoena during an interview in August, describing it as “the most difficult subpoena we’ve ever issued.” He noted that this particular situation is unique because Democrats and Republicans both supported the subpoena.

Epstein, who died in jail in 2019 while awaiting trial on charges related to child sex trafficking, is known to have visited the White House at least 17 times since Bill Clinton took office in 1993. Reports indicate that Epstein donated $10,000 to the White House Historical Association that same year.

Bill Clinton has acknowledged flying on Epstein’s notorious plane, often referred to as the Lolita Express, as a part of his work with the Clinton Global Initiative. Interestingly, there are several public figures, including Donald Trump, who also had associations with Epstein.

Documents released by the Oversight Committee include what appears to be a memo from Clinton to Epstein, which had some illegible parts, but it seemed to carry a more personal note, mentioning, “And keep your child-like curiosity.”

Maxwell, who has asserted that she was closer to Bill Clinton than to Epstein, indicated in a prison interview that “President Clinton was a friend of mine, not a friend of Epstein.” She emphasized that she had not observed any particular fondness from Clinton toward Epstein.

Currently serving a 20-year prison sentence for her role in Epstein’s activities, Maxwell also testified earlier this year that Bill Clinton “absolutely never” visited Epstein’s island.

In his 2024 memoir, Clinton admitted to, yes, being on Epstein’s plane, but he firmly denied ever stepping foot on the island. He remarked, “I wish I had never met him,” reflecting on the ongoing scrutiny that has followed his involvement with Epstein.

Clinton has not been accused of any criminal behavior in connection with Epstein, asserting he was unaware of any trafficking activities involving minors.
