Pakistan PM proposes Trump for Nobel Peace Prize for Gaza ceasefire efforts

Pakistan Nominates Trump for Nobel Peace Prize Again

On Monday, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif declared his plan to nominate former President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize. This nomination is for Trump’s efforts in facilitating a ceasefire and hostage agreement between Hamas and Israel.

This marks the second time Pakistan has put forward Trump’s name for the prestigious award. Earlier in June, he was nominated for his role in brokering a ceasefire between Pakistan and India.

While addressing a gathering in Egypt, Sharif stated, “We nominated President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize, alongside an amazing team, for his remarkable contributions to stopping wars—first between India and Pakistan, and now achieving a ceasefire.” He went on to emphasize the importance of Trump’s leadership, noting, “I genuinely believe he is the most deserving candidate for the Peace Prize.”

According to Sharif, Trump’s efforts not only fostered peace in South Asia but also had a significant impact on saving lives. He mentioned, “Today in Sharm el-Sheikh, countless lives in the Middle East are being saved through the peace established in Gaza.”

Both Trump and Sharif were part of a group of global leaders present in the Egyptian resort town of Sharm el-Sheikh, where they signed agreements tied to the Gaza peace deal.

After announcing the nomination, Sharif turned to Trump with a salute, praising his “exemplary and visionary leadership.” He suggested that Trump is the leader the world needs at this time, remarking that history will remember him for stopping multiple wars.

In related news, recently, the Norwegian Nobel Committee awarded the Peace Prize to Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Colina Machado. Following that announcement, Trump seemed to express his discontent with the committee’s choices, quipping about Norway’s decision-making.
