Redwood Credit Union Celebrates Day of Impact

This past Monday, while many financial institutions observed Columbus Day, Redwood Credit Union in Santa Rosa dedicated the day to making a difference through what they call a “Day of Impact.” It’s a nice little tradition they’ve got going on.

This year, the credit union partnered with Foster Love, a nonprofit based in Brea that focuses on improving the lives of children in foster care. I mean, it’s really heartening to see organizations come together for such a meaningful cause.

On that day, around 1,000 Redwood Credit Union employees gathered at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds in Santa Rosa. They put together approximately 4,000 care bags and birthday boxes—enough for every foster youth in San Francisco and North Bay counties served by RCU. Talk about a substantial impact.

Brett Martinez, the president and CEO of Redwood Credit Union, expressed the organization’s commitment to creating both meaningful and sustainable change. “Our goal is to ensure that current and future generations are strong, resilient, and prosperous,” he noted. It’s this kind of unity that connects individuals to larger initiatives, and honestly, I think it really matters.

Events like this don’t just help those in need; they also allow people to feel part of something significant. And, of course, that’s something we can all appreciate. It feels good to contribute to the greater good, even in small ways.
