Hilaria Baldwin Claims “Mean Girls” Affected Her Dismissal from Dancing with the Stars
Hilaria Baldwin has attributed her exit from Season 34 of Dancing with the Stars to what she refers to as “mean girls.” In a recent conversation, she mentioned her unfamiliarity with TikTok, saying it’s interesting that there’s been a lot of negativity surrounding her experience. Baldwin was partnered with Gleb Savchenko this season and shared her thoughts during a discussion with Us Weekly over the weekend.
“I think what happened is that, rather than simply voting for favorites, some couples were rallying support to vote against us,” she explained. “There seemed to be a concerted effort to promote other contestants while undermining my fan base.”
These remarks align with comments she made on Instagram Live last Friday, where she expressed feelings of being targeted by the competition’s systematic bullying tactics. “It’s very organized, very calculated bullying,” the 41-year-old yoga instructor noted. “While it does cast a shadow over me, I want to remember that my life contributes to a larger community, thus motivating me to courageously speak out against these wrongs.”
Back in September, it was revealed that Hilaria would be joining the renowned cast of DWTS, which includes several other celebrities. She also addressed rumors in an exclusive interview with Page Six, indicating that she did not actively pursue a spot on the show. “I was approached a few days ago and made a last-minute decision, which meant relocating my entire family to Los Angeles,” she clarified.
Unfortunately for Baldwin, her time on the show was brief, as she and Savchenko became the fourth couple to be eliminated. In an emotional interview with Good Morning America following her departure, she expressed feeling “a little hurt” by the outcome.
Hilaria’s participation in the series has been overshadowed by past controversies, including the revelation that she, who claimed to be of Spanish origin, is actually a Boston native named Hilary. Reports surfaced that her parents didn’t even move to Spain until she was already well into adulthood. Additionally, she faced backlash in March for interrupting her husband, Alec Baldwin, during an interview, prompting social media commentary.
In a different interview, she described her time on DWTS as “healing” for her and her family after a challenging few years. “This is one of the first things I’ve committed to doing just for myself,” she said. “It’s therapeutic not only for me but also for my children, who benefit from seeing their mother happy.”
