Media Claims About Antifa’s Existence

Recent assertions from liberal media suggest that Antifa may not be a substantial threat, especially compared to right-wing extremist groups. Despite this narrative, Blaze TV host Sarah Gonzalez has pointed out the unusual timing with which these claims emerged, noting they’ve been discussing Antifa for years.

“It’s quite interesting. Like with many things the left wants to ignore, they’re now suggesting Antifa doesn’t exist,” Gonzalez commented during her show “Sara Gonzalez Unfiltered.” She added, “But here’s the catch: the internet is forever.” She referred to a past ABC news article that stated, “After a year of protests, Portlanders’ patience with Antifa is running thin,” from 2021.

The article also mentioned that “Rose City Antifa is one of the oldest active Antifa groups in the country.” Gonzalez pointed out that this coverage shows a clear acknowledgment of Antifa’s existence and influence. “So back in 2021, we were not only discussing what Antifa was but also how longstanding some of these groups are,” she reflected.

In 2021, ABC News even aired a segment featuring anonymous members of Rose City Antifa, who had their voices altered. One member stated, “The use of violence is a tactic to keep the community safe,” arguing that it was necessary to counter groups like the Proud Boys and other extremists. They explained further, “People break windows to symbolize how cities prioritize property over the well-being of individuals.” Through this lens, Gonzales commented, “It’s just symbolic.”

She expressed skepticism, wondering, “Why believing in property rights could label someone as a fascist or a communist? It seems contradictory. But that’s the logic they follow.”

“Now, we’re supposed to pretend it doesn’t exist,” she concluded.
