Dr. Keith Ablow discusses his belief that Joe Biden showed signs of dementia as early as 2012.

Dr. Keith Abloh, a psychiatrist and former Fox News contributor, expressed he wasn’t shocked by Joe Biden’s freeze during a particularly tough debate against President Trump last year. This opinion comes after Abloh had previously indicated, over ten years ago, that he noticed signs of dementia in Biden.

During a chat with Pod Force One’s Miranda Devine, Abloh shared that he had an instinct back in 2012, during Biden’s vice presidential debate with Paul Ryan, that something might be off. At that time, he noted Biden’s infectious laugh and frequent interruptions.

“Being a psychiatrist means you learn to tune into your instincts as well as others,” Abloh mentioned, pointing out that he later treated Biden’s son, Hunter.

Reflecting on Biden’s performance against Ryan, Abloh admitted he felt uneasy watching Biden, describing it as a “staccato performance.” He elaborated that while interruptions were common, they seemed unrefined, and he found Biden’s laughter oddly contagious yet inappropriate.

He recalled thinking, “What could explain this?” Subsequently, he appeared on Fox News and suggested that some behaviors like those displayed by Biden might indicate dementia.

Abloh’s remarks on “Fox & Friends” got quite a bit of backlash from various media outlets at the time. Even Jon Stewart had some sharp words in response.

His original thought was, “Maybe Biden is experiencing some amnesia here.”

“That was just my gut feeling,” he reiterated.

In another meeting with the late Fox News chairman Roger Ailes after the debate, Abloh had the opportunity to voice his concerns about Biden’s mental fitness and was encouraged to speak publicly about it.

“When I mentioned my worries to Ailes following the debate, he suggested I ponder sharing those thoughts on air,” Abloh recalled.

He recognized that Biden, now 82, often uses laughter strategically, but the chuckles he exhibited during the Ryan debate felt off.

Abloh proposed that Biden’s shaky performance against Trump was likely a continuation of those same cognitive issues.

“I can’t say for sure, but I wasn’t surprised at all; I’d seen signs of it long ago.”
