Breece Hall Trade Rumors Addressed by Jets Coach

On Wednesday, Jets coach Aaron Glenn put an end to speculation regarding a potential trade for running back Breece Hall.

The trade rumors surrounding Hall have been circulating since April and have gained traction again as the Jets struggled to a 0-6 record ahead of the November 4 trade deadline. Glenn clarified that the team never intended to trade Hall this summer.

When confronted about the ongoing rumors, Glenn simply stated, “That’s a rumor. I still feel the same way.”

Adding more intrigue, Hall recently posted on social media, igniting further speculation about his future. His message read: “They want me to lie down, but I’m paid to stand up… #Free 20.”

This post led some to wonder if Hall himself was looking for a change.

When asked to clarify the meaning behind his post, Hall responded, “Maybe someday,” before exiting the locker room.

After returning, he offered a somewhat vague explanation. “I haven’t posted yet this season. It’s just a way to say I’m ready for whatever happens to me, whether it’s an opponent or my life. For me, it’s about football. Okay, I’m ready for whatever opponent comes my way. It’s a game-type thing,” he said.

When pressed about whether “free 20” indicated he was leaving the team, Hall remained noncommittal.

He later asserted, “No, it’s about being in the moment and being in the game. I’m ready for anything.”

Regarding concerns about trade talks, Hall pointed out, “You guys are the only ones making rumors like this. I didn’t start these rumors.”

While Hall expressed his intention to stay with the Jets, the ongoing losses leave some wondering if the team might reconsider his position. He is set to become a free agent in March, which adds to the urgency of the situation.

As such, this rumor likely won’t fade away until the trade deadline on November 4.
