State Department revokes visas from foreigners who ridiculed Kirk's death

State Department Imposes Penalties Following Remarks on Kirk’s Death

The White House has commended the State Department for taking action against foreign nationals who made inflammatory statements following the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk last month.

According to the White House, the revocation of visas serves to safeguard American citizens. White House Press Secretary Anna Kelly stated, “For years, President Trump has highlighted the issue of left-wing political violence, which has been fueled by hostile Democratic rhetoric labeling Republicans as Nazis and fascists. The Trump Administration is committed to ensuring that those we allow into the country do not condone this troubling behavior that promotes political violence.”

On Tuesday, the State Department disclosed it had revoked the visas of six individuals for their remarks about Kirk’s assassination.

The agency commented, “The United States is under no obligation to welcome foreign nationals who endorse the death of an American citizen,” while also noting it continues to identify visa holders celebrating Kirk’s assassination.

Among those affected were a German national who remarked, “Democrats don’t complain when fascists die,” and a Paraguayan who claimed, “Charlie Kirk is the son of Abu *** and died according to his own rules.” Additionally, a Mexican national was found to have said Kirk had “died as a racist” and noted that “some people deserve to die, and the world would be better off without them.”

Visas were also canceled for individuals from countries like Argentina, South Africa, and Brazil, with the State Department hinting at consequences for those who mocked Kirk’s death online, indicating it would take “appropriate action” against such comments.

Critics have pointed out the contradiction in the State Department’s actions, highlighting that Kirk was a staunch advocate for free speech. David Axelrod, a former advisor to President Obama, remarked on social media, “The United States is revoking the visas of six foreigners for their disparaging posthumous comments about Charlie Kirk, who ironically was a self-proclaimed champion of free speech!”

Meanwhile, President Trump denounced “far-left extremists,” describing them as embodying “the ideology of the devil” amid rising political violence. He stated, “We are witnessing far-left extremists turn to desperate acts of violence and terrorism because they’re aware their ideas aren’t convincing anyone. They have a devilish ideology and are failing.”

He referred to recent violent incidents at ICE facilities and controversial comments made by a Virginia attorney general candidate who hypothetically suggested violent actions against a Republican lawmaker.

In a related note, President Trump posthumously awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom to Kirk, co-founder of Turning Point USA, emphasizing the honor as the highest given to a civilian in the U.S. Kirk was 31 when he was assassinated during his “American Comeback Tour” at Utah Valley University last month, just over a year after two assassination attempts on President Trump.

Tyler Robinson, the individual accused of Kirk’s murder, faces multiple charges, including aggravated murder.
