Tragic Death of Italian Model in Assault

A 29-year-old Italian model and reality TV personality was reportedly stabbed over 20 times by her older, affluent boyfriend during a fierce argument on their apartment balcony.

Pamela Genini was discovered dead in her Milan apartment on Tuesday night after neighbors alerted authorities, having heard distressing screams and calls for help, according to local reports.

During the argument, which escalated violently, her boyfriend, Gianluca Sonchin, 52, was involved in the altercation. Neighbors on nearby balconies tried to draw attention to the chaotic scene.

When law enforcement arrived, they managed to break down the door just as the stabbing had ceased.

Genini was pronounced dead at the location of the incident.

Sonchin, who apparently inflicted injuries to his own neck in an apparent suicide attempt, was subsequently treated for his wounds in critical condition at a Milan hospital, under police oversight.

By the time authorities arrived, Genini had suffered 24 stab wounds.

Sonchin has been charged with serious offenses, including stalking and premeditated aggravated murder.

In Italy, the term femicide is used to describe the killing of women based on gender motivations or domestic abuse, and such cases are prosecuted under aggravated murder laws.

Investigators are currently interviewing nearby residents, some of whom claim to have witnessed elements of the attack from their homes. A few reported seeing a man enter the apartment shortly before the crime occurred.

One witness recounted hearing Genini cry out for help just moments before the fatal incident.

A close friend of Genini mentioned that the couple’s relationship had experienced significant turmoil over the past few months, with plans to separate.

Genini, who had a successful modeling career, co-founded a swimwear brand called SheLux and was involved in luxury real estate. She also appeared on an Italian dating show where contestants compete while nude.

She often showcased her lavish lifestyle on social media, sharing images from her trips and appearances at prestigious events.

Her relationship with Sonchin, a wealthy businessman, had lasted for more than a year before her tragic death.

Reports indicate Sonchin had previously faced legal trouble, having been detained in 2010 on allegations linked to tax evasion and selling luxury vehicles at suspiciously low prices, connected to a broader criminal operation between Germany and Italy. It remains unclear if he was convicted in that case.
