The ALCS has shifted to Seattle with the Mariners initially holding a 2-0 lead in the series. Heading into Game 5, the situation is tense as it marks the Mariners’ last home game of this series.
After securing a strong 13-4 win in Game 3, the Toronto Blue Jays carried that energy into last night’s Game 4, notching their second victory of the season. “Mad Max” Scherzer celebrated his 500th MLB start, pitching 5.2 innings and giving up just one run.
In the context of a best-of-seven series, history shows that a team losing the first two games but winning the next two has a decent chance of turning things around, having won 10 out of 23 such cases. It’s also noteworthy that in the current 2-3-2 format, after Game 4, teams that play Game 5 away have gone on to win 34 out of 60 series.
Interestingly, every game so far has been won by the visiting team.
