On Sunday, the Israeli government raised concerns about the global silence regarding Hamas’s treatment of Palestinians. This includes reported public beatings and executions in the Gaza Strip since the ceasefire began ten days ago.
Spokesperson Shosh Bedrosian addressed international media, showing videos highlighting these abuses and questioning the absence of protests from foreign governments and demonstrators.
She displayed footage of “Hamas executing civilians in Gaza…men with their hands tied, blindfolded, and shot in the head,” emphasizing that calls for action, like “ceasefire now” and “Free Gaza,” seem to be ignored worldwide. “The international community needs to understand what we’re facing: a violent terrorist group that harms not just Israelis but also its own people,” she stated. “We’re asking where these egregious acts are occurring and why there are no UN resolutions demanding an end to the violence?”
Bedrosian also shared testimonies from hostages released after two years in captivity. They described harrowing conditions—being confined near corpses, suffering severe malnutrition—losing up to 40% of their body weight—and enduring beatings and torture. Although Hamas had agreed to release 28 hostages, she noted that 16 bodies still remain with them, indicating a breach of ceasefire terms by Hamas.
“We will not compromise; Israel will do whatever it takes to ensure all hostages come home,” she declared. Additionally, she mentioned Israel’s military response to Hamas militants who attacked Israeli soldiers attempting to dismantle “terrorist infrastructure” in Rafah.
“In light of Hamas’s violation of the ceasefire, Prime Minister Netanyahu consulted with the defense minister and heads of security agencies, instructing them to take decisive action against terrorist targets in Gaza,” stated the prime minister’s office in a release early Sunday.
When asked by Breitbart News if this indicated the end of the ceasefire, Bedrosian refrained from providing a direct answer, mentioning that Israel is still upholding its commitments under President Trump’s 20-point plan.
She remarked that Israel views the military efforts as a success, particularly for “overcoming the dangerous situation that Iran was attempting to create here.” According to her, three factors contributed to this success: Netanyahu’s leadership during wartime and the strong relationship Israel has fostered with U.S. President Trump.
