Jets’ Justin Fields Takes Hard Hit in Week 7 Matchup

During a pivotal game against the Carolina Panthers, New York Jets quarterback Justin Fields experienced a significant hit in the second quarter. With approximately 13:30 remaining in the half, Fields attempted to scramble left and slid to avoid further contact. Unfortunately, Panthers safety Nick Scott targeted Fields and struck him in the shoulder. Initially, it seemed Fields might have sustained a serious injury, but he managed to get back on his feet shortly afterward.

This play led to some friction on the field, as angry Jets players confronted Scott, resulting in a brief altercation between both teams. Jets offensive lineman Armando Menbou joined the fray, taking down Scott after the hit. Ultimately, Scott was penalized for unnecessary roughness.

Following the collision, Fields exited the game and was seen entering a blue medical tent but later returned to the action.

In Fields’ absence, veteran quarterback Tyrod Taylor took over and helped lead the drive, during which Nick Folk successfully kicked a 34-yard field goal, tying the game at three points.

The Jets’ performance this season has certainly been unexpected. Heading into the game against the Panthers, they held an 0-6 record and were missing standout wide receiver Garrett Wilson. Meanwhile, Carolina was sitting at 3-3 with quarterback Bryce Young at the helm, having started their game with a 13-play, 54-yard drive that concluded with a field goal.
