The story of Kalen DeBoer's 'Black Hoodie of Death' expands following the win against Alabama.

DeBoer’s Black Hoodie Continues to Bring Success for Alabama

Ken Griffey Jr. had his backwards hat, Tiger Woods is known for his Sunday Red, and now Karen DeBoer has made waves in college football with her signature black hoodie.

The head coach of Alabama sports a striking black Nike 2024 Sideline Drift Sweatshirt, complete with deep red trim, which seems to have inspired a wave of enthusiasm among fans and perhaps a bit of fear in rival teams.

DeBoer’s so-called “black hoodie of death” struck again as the No. 6 Crimson Tide triumphed over No. 11 Tennessee with a 37-20 victory at Bryant-Denny Stadium.

With a remarkable 13-2 record while wearing this hoodie over the last two seasons, DeBoer has led Alabama to a six-game winning streak, showing just how lucky this pullover has become.

Interestingly, during the season opener against Florida State, DeBoer’s red polo simply didn’t cut it; she made the switch to the hoodie and hasn’t turned back since.

“We’re going to ride this momentum,” DeBoer chuckled, commenting on her signature look after the game.

As part of the long-standing tradition in the Alabama-Tennessee rivalry, players celebrated the victory with fresh cigars on the field.

DeBoer humorously laid down the law before heading into the locker room, joking to reporters, “I told everyone not to put ashes on the hoodie.”

Her hoodie has become something of a legend in Tuscaloosa, with past versions even on display at the Bryant Museum.

Earlier this season, the now-famous black hoodie even sold out on the Fanatics official website, showing its immense popularity.

DeBoer recently appeared on SEC Nation, revealing that her match day attire would continue to draw attention and perhaps confusion among Alabama fans.

With this latest win, DeBoer has further solidified a strong coaching record, boasting a 19-3 (.864) record against AP-ranked teams, marking one of the best performances against Top 25 teams in history.

Looking ahead, Alabama is set to face the South Carolina Gamecocks on October 25. It’s pretty safe to speculate that DeBoer will be bringing her beloved hoodie along for the trip.
