As autumn starts to make its presence felt on the East Coast, Jeff Goldblum is embracing the season—albeit in Los Angeles first. He appeared at the 2025 Academy Museum Gala on Saturday night, sporting a chic black and white tuxedo designed by ERL, which provided a bit of extra warmth.
Walking the red carpet with his wife, Emily Livingston, Goldblum donned wide-leg black trousers, a matching waistcoat, and a ruffled white shirt reminiscent of the 1970s. He topped off his outfit with a black puffer coat, patent leather gloves, and wraparound sunglasses.
Livingston opted for a strapless pale yellow Prada dress accessorized with Cartier jewelry, making for a stylish duo. Eli Russell Lynets, the Venice Beach-based designer behind ERL, shared several images of Goldblum, showcasing looks both with and without the jacket. In a playful moment, Goldblum showed off his musical talents by playing the piano in one video.
The designer emphasized that “ERL Artisanal continues the study of the modern American man,” focusing on tailoring and new conventions, which Goldblum’s ensemble encapsulated perfectly.
Known for not adhering to conventional fashion norms, Goldblum has a history of making bold style choices, like pairing printed silk shirts with suits or incorporating vintage brooches into his outfits.
In a nod to past fashion eras, Goldblum’s vest, pleated pants, and ruffled shirt style evoke another timeline. Just last year, he graced the Prada menswear runway wearing a black overcoat with fur accents.
This latest ERL look aligns beautifully with the 72-year-old actor’s flair for timeless fashion with a contemporary twist. While L.A. may still be warm, Goldblum is clearly gearing up for the chillier months ahead with this cozy alternative to a classic suit.
