Comedian Michael Rapaport is taking aim at New York City mayoral candidate Zoran Mamdani for dining at a pricey sushi restaurant, suggesting his “working class” image is disingenuous.
In a post on X, Rapaport questioned, “How about a so-called ‘working class’ mayoral candidate like Zoran Mamdani eat tonight at OMEN SUSHI, one of the most expensive establishments in New York City?” He continued with a sharp critique, “This clown lives in a rent-stabilized apartment in Queens, but eats like a diplomat on a Qatari-funded per diem. Who’s paying for that toro, ‘Zoron the Fool?’ You are not working class. You are fraud class. #ZohranMamdani #ZoronTheMoron.”
Mamdani, a 34-year-old state lawmaker originally from Uganda, advocates for a rent price freeze for many, free public transportation, state-owned grocery stores, and free universal childcare for kids from six weeks to five years old.
Rapaport later reacted to a user’s rebuttal of his criticism, responding to a comment about whether it incensed him.
Throughout his campaign, Mamdani has faced questions about the phrase “globalize the intifada,” which is often interpreted as a call for violence against Jews.
Fox News Digital has reached out to Mamdani’s campaign for a response.
