Bill Maher criticizes the left on the trans issue: ‘You can’t just say things’

Bill Maher’s Recent Commentary on Leftist Ideology

Bill Maher, a well-known Democratic talk show host, is recognized as one of the more rational figures on the left. Recently, his monologue could be seen as particularly significant for “Real Time with Bill Maher.”

In a striking critique, Maher highlighted the left’s hesitance to openly challenge individuals he describes as “insane.” He stated that their failure to rein in their own extremes represents a major weakness.

“I couldn’t even get Neil deGrasse Tyson, a leading scientific voice, to concede that it’s absurd for outlets like Scientific American and The Atlantic to argue against separating sports by gender. Honestly, that makes a lot of sense,” he noted. “It really does.”

Conversely, Maher pointed out that conservatives generally endorse gender distinctions in sports, opposing what they see as a “needless” overhaul of societal norms.

“They regard gender as merely a social construct and claim that sex is assigned at birth, stating, ‘We don’t play that game.’ There’s this idea of self-identified transgender children without any age restrictions or parental consent,” he elaborated.

Maher didn’t limit his discussion to transgender issues; he also tackled a range of pressing matters that concern the left.

“Asylum seems to now encompass any reason someone might wish to enter the U.S. That’s not how it should be. Homelessness is perceived as a lifestyle choice, and natural immunity is disregarded. Whiteness has become synonymous with toxicity. And we even have trans women in prisons for women. It’s as if we’re welcoming chaos,” he expressed.

He continued, “Stop proposing radically new—and often terrible—ideas while simultaneously insisting they’re not up for debate. If you challenge these notions, you’re labeled as bad or ignorant. It’s like insisting that two plus two equals five. Clearly, you can’t just make statements like that.”

“Mathematics is branded as racist, there are claims that being overweight is healthy, and the idea that a men’s soccer team would draw with a women’s team—none of these statements can simply be taken at face value,” he argued.

Pat Gray, host of “Pat Gray Unleashed,” remarked that Maher may soon echo sentiments like, “I didn’t leave the Democratic Party; the Democratic Party left me.”

“What he articulated mirrors points made on this show for ages,” added executive producer Keith Marinak. “Welcome to the conversation, Bill.”

As Gray put it, “It’s just common sense. This isn’t even a matter of left versus right; it’s straightforward logic.”
