Sophie Cunningham from Fever discusses her dream of working with Victoria's Secret

Indiana Fever’s Sophie Cunningham Dreams of Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show

Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham has her eyes set on walking in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, but she admitted she might need “a big push-up bra” to make it happen.

While chatting on the “Show Me Something” podcast, Cunningham revealed that after seeing Chicago Sky star Angel Reese strut the runway for Victoria’s Secret last week, she wasted no time. She reached out to her agent, expressing her long-standing dream: “I’ve always wanted to be a Victoria’s Secret Angel,” she said, mentioning her admiration for model Candice Swanepoel.

But there’s a catch. Cunningham joked, “I don’t really have breasts. I’d really need a big push-up bra.” She described the lingerie brand’s show as “my Super Bowl,” and noted that she meets the height requirement, standing at a striking 6 feet 1 inch.

Just days before the show, it was announced that Reese, a two-time WNBA All-Star, would be the first Pro Athlete Angel for Victoria’s Secret. Olympic gold medalist Suni Lee was also a participant in the event.

Cunningham applauded Reese’s performance, saying, “She killed it, definitely killed it,” and referred to Reese as “stunningly beautiful.” Fashion has become a notable interest for Cunningham beyond her basketball career.

The 29-year-old guard has caught attention on social media, especially for her bold outfits during tunnel walks. One standout moment was when she wore a cut-out dress that showcased a tan line during the 2024 WNBA season.

She mentioned how her fashion choices have sparked interest from her family, jokingly noting, “It’s just like a joke. My family is like, ‘Oh, what’s Sophie going to wear today?'”

Despite facing criticism online regarding her revealing outfits, Cunningham remains unfazed. “Hey, I’m not going to look like this often or for very long, so I might as well use it while I can!” she remarked with a laugh.

She concluded on a positive note, saying that the fashion choices of women in the league are beginning to gain more recognition. “What we’re wearing is starting to stand out a little bit, and people are paying attention,” she said, reflecting on the growing interest in their fashion statements.
