Kim Kardashian Shares Health Scare on Season Premiere
Kim Kardashian opened up about a surprising health issue during the Season 7 premiere of Keeping Up with the Kardashians on Hulu. In a clip from the season, she is seen undergoing an MRI and informs her sister Kourtney that she “had a small aneurysm.”
“Whoa,” a visibly shocked Kourtney responds, placing her hand over her heart.
Kim went on to explain that her doctor attributed the aneurysm to “stress.” An aneurysm, in simple terms, is a bulge in a blood vessel wall. If it bursts, it can lead to serious internal bleeding and, tragically, death.
Throughout the episode, Kim highlighted that a significant source of her stress is her ex-husband Kanye West. They were married from 2014 until 2021 and share four children.
“I’m probably more stressed out just because I have to protect my children,” she noted. “Everyone around you might be able to handle the drama, but I want to shield my kids. They’ll eventually learn things; they’ll grow up and understand.”
She further elaborated, “So my responsibility as a mother is to ensure they’re safe when that kind of behavior is going on.”
Additionally, Kim shared that her skin condition has flared up again. “I hadn’t experienced psoriasis since my divorce, but it just started coming back,” she confessed, indicating that the stress from West has been challenging for her. “I felt more stressed, probably because I had to be super protective of what I needed to safeguard.”
In another part of the episode, Kim addressed her feelings during her relationship with West, saying she often felt like she had “Stockholm syndrome.” “I always felt a bit of that, feeling sympathetic and overly protective. I constantly wanted to help him,” she explained.
Following their breakup in 2021, Kim and Kanye navigated a complex divorce, finalized in November 2022.
During a recent appearance on Alex Cooper’s podcast, Kim discussed her feelings during the marriage. “People might say there were signs, but perhaps I just wasn’t paying attention,” she reflected. “When someone is going through a mental break, you want to be supportive and help them through it.”
She added, “It’s tough to remain in a relationship that can be toxic. When kids are involved, it becomes so much harder to leave rather than stay. It alters everyone’s lives for good.”
Kim also mentioned that West hasn’t called their kids in several months and that she is raising them “full-time.”
