An article from RealClearPolitics discusses how former President Joe Biden’s Secret Service emphasized diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) practices while dealing with other challenges, including issues related to some larger agents.
Published on Wednesday, the article states that the current U.S. Secret Service Director Sean Curran is striving to repair the agency’s image following two assassination attempts on President Donald Trump during the 2024 election campaign.
It also highlighted that Kimberly Cheatle, the former Secretary of the Secret Service, advocated for initiatives aimed at making the federal government a model of DEI under the Biden administration.
According to Breitbart News, Cheatle resigned in July 2024 after facing scrutiny from lawmakers regarding the agency’s failures to prevent an assassination attempt on Trump during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.
The RealClearPolitics article delved deeper into the DEI efforts during Biden’s tenure, even mentioning “overweight female employees” who were reportedly also plus-size models.
Under Cheatle’s leadership, DEI practices became so embedded that overweight female agents—who had never passed a physical fitness test—were allowed to stay on staff and even work as models. One agent was profiled in a magazine photo shoot titled “Undercover, But Never Exposed,” hinting at her Secret Service role in exchange for federal employment.
This female agent describes herself on social media as a “nationally recognized curves model, plus-size fashion and fitness influencer, and body positivity advocate.” She was assigned to protect Kamala Harris’ stepdaughter, Ella Emhoff, in New York. After failing the physical fitness test multiple times, the agent was moved to the Special Services Division, where her duties included maintaining armored vehicle fleets and screening mail and packages for the White House, according to sources within the Secret Service community.
The Special Committee on the Assassination Attempt of Donald J. Trump released its final findings in December, citing “deficiencies in planning, execution, and leadership” within the U.S. Secret Service, per Breitbart News.
Reported by Breitbart, in September 2025, one agent was placed on administrative leave and lost his security clearance after making a social media post regarding the September 10 assassination attempt on Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk.
Anthony Pfaff, identified as a current Secret Service agent, posted that Kirk “spewed hate and racism on the show,” adding that “you can only work around karma, and she won’t go away.” This post circulated within the Secret Service and raised concerns among colleagues, with one remarking that it was unsettling for someone tasked with protecting the rights of all Americans, including political speech.
Breitbart News reported on September 29 that authorities had arrested a man accused of attempting to climb the White House fence during Trump’s presidency.
