Tragic Crash Involving Tractor-Trailer Claims Three Lives in California
Disturbing footage has emerged showing a tractor-trailer, allegedly operated by an undocumented immigrant, colliding with at least eight vehicles on a California highway, resulting in the deaths of three individuals.
The video reportedly captures Jashanpreet Singh, a 21-year-old, driving a red big rig westbound on Highway 10 just after 1 p.m. on Wednesday when he crashes into multiple cars. The incident looks chaotic as the truck slams into several vehicles before eventually hitting a white truck from behind.
In the aftermath, the truck appears to catch fire, veering off to the side and striking another car, coming to a halt shortly thereafter.
Authorities confirmed that three people lost their lives due to the incident, while four more were taken to the hospital—some with serious injuries.
Singh is reported to be an undocumented immigrant from India, having entered the U.S. via the southern border in 2022. He was reportedly “released” during the Biden administration, according to the Department of Homeland Security.
He has since been arrested on charges including DUI manslaughter by local authorities in San Bernardino County, along with DUI prior to an ICE-issued arrest detainer.
“It’s a heartbreaking tragedy that three innocent lives were lost due to a reckless open border policy that permits illegal immigrants to operate 18-wheelers on our highways,” stated Tricia McLaughlin, assistant secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, in a note to the Post.
This incident seems to highlight a disturbing trend of undocumented drivers operating large trucks on American roads.
Among the victims, two were identified as Clarence and Lisa Nelson. Clarence was notably a former assistant basketball coach at Pomona High School.
Currently, Singh remains in custody without bail.
