Giants’ Dart Reflects on Injury to Skatebo
This season, Jackson Dart and Cam Skatebo have been standout players for the Giants, and their friendship brings a lot of joy to the team’s fans.
After the Giants lost to the Eagles, Skatebo was still on Dart’s mind, especially since the rookie suffered a season-ending injury to his right ankle during the game.
Dart shared his feelings in a post on Instagram, expressing how much Skatebo means to him. He wrote, “[heartbroken] My brother Mann, God’s plan.”
The rookie quarterback also spoke about the injuries to his teammates during a press conference after the game. “I was devastated,” he said. “That’s my son. It sucks to see him go down and react to what happened. That’s the worst part of this game.”
Skatebo got hurt while trying to make a catch in the second quarter, landing awkwardly and immediately feeling pain. He was seen gripping his helmet as Giants guard Greg Van Roten signaled for medical attention.
Eventually, Skatebo had to leave the field on a cart but took a moment to wave to the crowd as he headed back to the locker room.
Just before the injury, Skatebo and Dart shared their signature headbutt handshake, a moment that fans have come to love.
As the situation unfolded, Dart was visibly emotional, with cameras catching him in a heartfelt moment, taking a knee and expressing his distress over Skatebo’s injury.
This season, Skatebo has amassed 410 yards and five touchdowns from 101 rushing attempts since being drafted by the Giants in the fourth round earlier in the year.
