Investigation into Biden's autopen usage intensifies as DOJ examines Delaware and DC.

Investigations into the controversy surrounding the use of an autopen by former President Joe Biden are ramping up in both Delaware and Washington, D.C. Reports suggest that these inquiries have gained traction recently.

On Tuesday, Attorney General Pam Bondi shared on X that her “team is looking into the Biden administration’s reported use of an autopen for pardons.”

This announcement coincided with the release of a substantial report by the House Oversight Committee, which detailed findings from a lengthy investigation into the Biden administration. This report examined claims that Biden’s close advisors may have hidden indications of his mental decline. Additionally, it raised questions about whether decisions made with the autopen were done without Biden’s full awareness.

The document pointed out an inconsistent documentation process regarding Biden’s pardons, which, according to the committee, casts doubt on whether he personally made the decisions. The report argued that “without adequate, contemporaneous documentation to demonstrate that President Biden, in light of his cognitive decline, made an executive decision, such decisions are unenforceable and should be considered invalid.”

However, Biden’s press secretary countered these claims, arguing that the investigation into what they termed “unsubstantiated allegations” confirmed that Biden made legitimate presidential decisions. The statement emphasized there was “no conspiracy, no cover-up, no wrongdoing” and urged Congress to shift focus away from political retaliation and work to end the government shutdown.

In a past interview, Biden insisted that he “made all the decisions myself,” which adds another layer to the ongoing discourse around his presidency and the actions taken during his time in office.
