Kelsey Grammer Voices Support in New Jersey Gubernatorial Race

Actor Kelsey Grammer, famous for his roles in “Frasier” and “Cheers,” has shared his views on the competitive gubernatorial race in New Jersey, backing a specific candidate.

“There’s a whole bunch of well-known folks from Jersey, and some of them… well, they just seem okay with being part of your prayers,” he said.

Growing up in New Jersey, Grammer took to social media to voice his endorsement. Last week, Jack Ciattarelli, a former Congressman and Republican candidate, was preparing to go head-to-head with current U.S. Representative Mikie Sherrill, a Democrat.

“As a kid, people took a stand for what was right. They didn’t just wait around hoping someone else would fix things,” Grammer mentioned in his campaign video. “Lately, it feels like we’ve lost that direction.”

The actor pointed to rising taxes, increasing crime rates, and politicians failing to deliver on their promises.

He concluded, “Jack Ciattarelli will lead with strength, decency, and respect for everyone who cares about New Jersey. We’ve waited too long; it’s time for a change.”

Ciattarelli, who has gained backing from several local Democratic figures, also posted a campaign video online.

In that video, he emphasized, “It’s time for honest leadership, sensible taxes, safer communities, and to bring back pride in our state. Real change is overdue.”

Grammer also referenced notable New Jersey artists like Bon Jovi, Bruce Springsteen, and Taylor Swift in his video, calling it a home of talent and creativity.

He added, “Hey, it’s Kelsey Grammer here. You likely know I’m from Jersey, and that’s why I’m speaking up. Many famous people hail from here, but some seem just fine with being… well, you know, in your prayers.”

Interestingly, Grammer has publicly supported conservative candidates in earlier elections. Last year, he threw his weight behind New Jersey Republican Senate candidate Curtis Bashaw, who was running against Democrat Andy Kim for the seat previously held by Bob Menendez. Ultimately, Kim emerged victorious in that election.

Grammer’s comments and campaign support reflect a shift in political engagement, urging New Jersey residents to consider change in their leadership.
