Game 6 of the World Series is on Friday, here’s what you should know

Blue Jays One Win Away from World Series Championship

The Toronto Blue Jays are on the brink of clinching their first World Series title since 1993. In Game 5 on Wednesday night, they overpowered the Los Angeles Dodgers with a decisive 6-1 victory, pulling ahead in the series with a 3-2 lead.

Game 6 is set to take place this Friday at 8 PM ET at Rogers Center in Toronto, and it will be shown live on FOX.

After suffering a tough loss in Game 3, where they faced the longest game in World Series history, the Blue Jays rallied back, securing wins in both Games 4 and 5. The Dodgers had previously triumphed in Game 3 with a 6-5 victory, thanks to a home run by Freddie Freeman in the 18th inning.

This tenacity is a hallmark of the Blue Jays, who have demonstrated relentless energy throughout the season and the postseason. Their efforts visibly took a toll on the Dodgers’ pitching staff during the latest games.

Star first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has been remarkable, boasting a .415 batting average along with eight home runs and 15 RBIs across 16 postseason games. He’s made a significant impact, hitting in every World Series game thus far, including two crucial home runs.

The Dodgers are counting on Yoshinobu Yamamoto for Game 6 in an effort to keep their championship hopes alive. Yamamoto had an impressive showing in Game 2, leading the Dodgers to a complete-game win.

In that victory, he struck out eight batters and allowed only one run on four hits. Now, as Los Angeles heads into a critical game, all eyes will be on him once more.

The Blue Jays will counter with Kevin Gausman, who pitched well but fell short in Game 2 against Yamamoto. Gausman went 6 2/3 innings that game, giving up four hits and three runs, and he’s looking to perform better this time around as they aim for the championship.
