Trump Completes Renovation of Lincoln Bedroom Bathroom
President Trump revealed on Friday that the renovation of the bathroom in the Lincoln Bedroom at the White House has been finalized. He shared the redesigned space through several posts on Truth Social.
The bathroom, which hadn’t seen updates since the 1940s and featured a green tile design, has been transformed with black-and-white marble that Trump claimed is more fitting for the time of Abraham Lincoln.
“I renovated the Lincoln Bathroom, which was last updated in the 1940s with an Art Deco green tile look that really didn’t match the Lincoln era,” Trump stated in his posts on Truth Social.
The president further elaborated, “I chose polished statuary marble in black and white, which not only suits the Lincoln era but might actually be similar to what was there originally!”
Accompanying his statements, Trump shared multiple photos of the revamped bathroom, highlighting its marble walls and gold fixtures.
“Check out the White House’s renovated Lincoln bathroom – highly polished statuary marble!” he expressed in one of his posts.
Historically, the Oval Office and Cabinet room, where Lincoln once worked, became known as the “Lincoln Bedroom” in 1945 after President Harry S. Truman filled it with furniture from Lincoln’s time according to the White House Historical Association.
This room can be found in the southeast corner of the White House’s second floor.
Recently, Trump announced plans to demolish part of the east wing as part of a project aimed at building a privately-funded ballroom within the White House. This venture has been in discussion for several months and is projected to cost around $250 million, with funding coming from both Trump and private donors.
“Right now, we can’t hold major events for world leaders without putting up a large, unsightly tent about 300 feet from the main entrance,” remarked White House press secretary Caroline Leavitt during a briefing on July 31.
