Glen Powell Talks About Wardrobe Malfunction on Film Set
Glen Powell recently shared an awkward moment that occurred while filming his latest movie. During an episode of “Spilling the E-Tea,” the 37-year-old actor described how surprised he was when a stunt turned out to be more revealing than he had anticipated.
He explained that the stunt included rappelling down a building while he was mostly naked, just a towel wrapped around him and what he humorously referred to as a “marble bag” underneath. “I wear a pouch underneath and wrap a towel around it,” Powell said. When you’re, um, descending a building and spot a window, you might not realize there’s someone on the other side, lights flashing everywhere,” he added.
His co-star, Josh Brolin, couldn’t resist teasing him, remarking that the crew member on the other side of the glass was definitely watching him as he came down. “I spread my legs and mimicked Powell’s posture during that scene,” Brolin joked.
In “Running Man,” Powell portrays a father aiming to quickly accumulate wealth to help his ill daughter by participating in a reality show where contestants must survive 30 days while being hunted by professional assassins.
“And when you’re walking down a building and you see a window, you don’t realize there’s someone there doing lighting and electrical work.”

Reflecting on that scene, Powell mentioned that he found the idea amusing and unique. However, he later regretted agreeing to it. “I said yes to this scene in the summer, and then we shot it on a rooftop in Bulgaria in February,” he said. Being wrapped in a towel in front of the crew is one thing, but doing that in freezing weather is, well, something else entirely.
Powell gained significant attention in 2022 when he starred alongside Tom Cruise in “Top Gun: Maverick.” The year after, he featured in “The Hitman” and “Anyone But You,” earning a Golden Globe nomination for the former.
Following his role in “Anyone But You,” there were whispers about a romantic link with co-star Sidney Sweeney, who was engaged at the time. The speculation reignited in March when Sweeney ended her engagement and attended Powell’s sister’s wedding.
Sweeney commented on the rumors, pointing out that the press had taken liberties with their interactions. “There was no leaning forward, per se. Tabloids just kept it alive,” she explained, noting how even standing close together led to assumptions.
“Running Man” is set to hit theaters on November 7th.
