Israel Dismantles Two Hamas Strongholds in Areas Controlled by the IDF in Gaza

Netanyahu Addresses Ongoing Hamas Threats

On Sunday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu disclosed that two groups of Hamas terrorists remain active in regions where the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have pulled out following a ceasefire agreement.

Netanyahu further stated that the IDF is currently focused on dismantling these strongholds and reinforcing defenses along what is termed the “Yellow Line” in the eastern Gaza Strip.

In a message to his coalition, he noted that while Israel keeps the United States informed of its actions, there will be no need to seek U.S. permission for strikes against Hamas.

I’d like to mention our ongoing battle against the Axis elements. The Iranian Axis has faced significant setbacks. We’ve disrupted its influence in various ways, though remnants still exist, attempting to recuperate. Our aim is to hinder their recovery on multiple fronts.

Initially, in Gaza, Hamas faced a devastating defeat. While remnants of its former strength linger, it’s striving to bounce back. Currently, our efforts focus on four main axes. Firstly, the imperative to return hostages. The attempts of Hamas to mislead us, the U.S., and the broader international community are futile. We are dedicated to bringing all the hostages home.

Next, we are targeting Hamas strongholds in areas we control in Gaza. Specifically, there are two significant locations in Rafa and Khan Yunis, and we are determined to eliminate them.

Regarding the safety of our military, I’ve issued clear instructions. Should any attempt arise to harm our forces, we will retaliate against those responsible and their associated groups. This is a resolution we’ve made.

We will keep our American allies in the loop. It’s crucial to clarify that we’re not asking for their permission. Our obligation to maintain security is paramount and will not be compromised.

Lastly, we stand firm on the disarmament and demilitarization of Hamas and the Gaza Strip. This principle, which I align with President Trump on, guides our actions. If one method fails, we will pursue another approach. The implications of that are clear.

The Trump administration is backing Israel’s initiatives concerning the Yellow Line and is aligned in demanding the return of the remaining 11 bodies of hostages who died while in Hamas custody.
