Chinese filmmaker Yi Chou has made serious allegations against actor Jeremy Renner, claiming he sent her unsolicited pornographic images and threatened to report her to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) if she confronted him about his behavior.
In a lengthy statement shared on social media, Chou detailed her experience, mentioning an unexpected delivery of images from Renner in June 2025, which included a sequence of explicit photos of herself. “This was his introduction to me,” she said, adding that she later discovered other women had received similar communications from him in the past.
When Chou reached out to Renner about his past conduct, she felt threatened by his response, stating that he indicated he would report her to immigration authorities. “This behavior caused me great shock and fear,” she expressed.
Chou continued in her posts, discussing how after some back-and-forth discussions, Renner appeared to charm her, leading her to believe he was interested in a serious relationship. “I believed in his charm and agreed to allow him to join my projects,” she noted, highlighting the difficulties she faced in those months while managing two Oscar-contending films.
However, it later emerged that she was targeted by a smear campaign, which she felt jeopardized her work and reputation. “It’s alarming to know that such behavior still exists in Hollywood,” Chou remarked, expressing concern for other women who might endure similar experiences of being objectified or abused.
She criticized the Hollywood industry for protecting individuals like Renner, questioning if it still needed to harbor silence in the era following the #MeToo movement. Chou also expressed gratitude toward those in the media who supported her in revealing the truths that women face in the industry.
Concluding her statement, she assured that her allegations are backed by written records. Chou mentioned her struggle with discrete pain in her relationship with Renner, pointing out his history of domestic violence. She reflected on her initial disbelief when she heard claims from Renner’s ex-wife, only to later find herself fearing for her safety.
The actress added that her previous support for Renner had felt misguided after experiencing mistreatment first-hand. She shared snippets of conversations she claims to have had with Renner, including casual pictures of him at home.
Renner has appeared in Chou’s documentary “The Chronicles of Disney” and has faced serious incidents in his life, including a near-fatal snowplow accident in 2023, along with previous allegations of abuse made by his ex-wife.
