Prince Harry Apologizes for Supporting Los Angeles Dodgers

Prince Harry has expressed regret for his choice to back the Los Angeles Dodgers during the 2025 World Series.

Attending Game 4 of the series against the Toronto Blue Jays, Prince Harry sported a blue Dodger hat. This decision sparked confusion among fans, as many felt he should have supported Toronto, given the UK’s historical ties to Canada.

While in Canada for Remembrance Day, he acknowledged his hat choice wasn’t well received and offered an apology.

During an interview on Thursday, he was asked about the backlash: “Any comments about the trouble you stirred by wearing a Los Angeles Dodgers hat?” To which he replied, “Oh, it’s the Los Angeles Dodgers hat, Hatgate. First of all, I’d like to apologize to Canada for wearing it.”

He humorously added, “Secondly, I was receiving threats. I didn’t really have much of a choice. The owner himself invited me into the Dodgers’ box or dugout, so I thought it was only polite to comply.”

On that day, the couple coordinated their outfits, with Markle in a white shirt paired with a navy sweater and dark pants, while Prince Harry donned a navy blazer over a white T-shirt and dark trousers. They were spotted in the front row, right behind baseball legend Sandy Koufax.

“Oh, it’s a Los Angeles Dodgers hat, Hatgate. Well, first of all, I’d like to apologize to Canada for wearing it. Second, I was under duress.”

In a lighter moment during the same interview, Harry wore a Toronto Blue Jays cap, reiterating his support for the Canadian team. He joked, “I’m going to wear this from now on so I don’t make the same mistake again.”

He mused, “As I’m losing hair up top and sitting under bright lights, I’ll grab any hat I can find,” before adding, “I’m truly sorry to the Canadian people. I was shocked the Blue Jays lost, but best of luck to them.”

Earlier, Meghan shared a video on Instagram that captured Prince Harry without a hat during Game 7 of the World Series. The footage, believed to be taken from their private theater, showed Harry and a friend watching as the Dodgers clinched their victory, while Meghan’s enthusiastic cheers could be heard off-screen.

In celebration, a friend shared a message on social media, remarking, “Best game ever!!! Sorry your team didn’t win, but mine didn’t. I love you @Dodgers!!!!”
