Man throws antisemitic remark at Dave Portnoy during pizza review

On Friday, Dave Portnoy, the founder of Barstool Sports, encountered anti-Semitic remarks while he was filming in Mississippi.

Portnoy was outside Boardtown Pizza in Starkville, Mississippi, reviewing his popular “Bite” pizza when a passerby shouted, “fuck the Jews.” The remark was quickly denounced by those in the vicinity.

“Would you like to be on camera, buddy?” Portnoy asked, gesturing for the individual to approach him, as seen in a video shared on X.

The man then approached Portnoy and the cameraman, engaging in a brief, inaudible exchange before departing.

“That was awful,” a woman was heard saying in response to the incident.

Another onlooker shouted, “Fuck you, get out of here,” directed at the person who made the remark.

The identity of the individual who shouted the slur remains unknown.

Portnoy creates content for Mississippi State University in Starkville, and Boardtown Pizza is situated near the campus.

This incident marks the second time this year that Portnoy faced similar hostility during his pizza review sessions. In June, a comparable comment was directed at him while he was filming outside Terrazza in Toronto.

“Here we go, let’s go,” he said upon hearing the remark back then.

Some fans around began to giggle, prompting Portnoy to admonish them.

“What are you laughing at?” he said, causing the group to quiet down. “Exactly. Well, let’s go. Everyone knows the rules once they have a bite. We won’t tolerate that… What is Toronto hospitality there?”

“It’s terrible, it’s terrible,” remarked Bill, a Greek friend accompanying Portnoy during the Toronto trip.
