The situation has been sorted out.

The charming French “detective” who gained attention in a viral photo outside the Louvre after a recent jewel theft has been identified as a 15-year-old boy.

Pedro Elias Garzón Delvaux, or “Fedora Man,” was captured in a striking image on October 19th. He stood at the iconic Paris museum, right after the chaotic robbery, sporting a perfectly angled brown fedora, a trendy vest, and a smart tie, while elegantly holding a wooden-handled umbrella and wearing an enigmatic expression.

Yet, the young cosplayer had kept his identity hidden until now.

“I didn’t want to reveal it right away,” he shared in an interview. “There’s a mystery to this photo, and I wanted to maintain that.”

Delvaux recounted that he was just visiting the museum with his parents when French photographer Thibaut Camus took the now-famous photo, unaware of the robbery occurring at the same time.

His fashion sense leans toward 1940s styles, inspired by characters like Sherlock Holmes and Hercule Poirot. He often dons such attire at schools that don’t require uniforms. His ensemble features a waistcoat, jacket, and tie from Yves Saint Laurent, some Tommy Hilfiger pants, and a vintage Russian watch.

He mentioned he usually wears fedoras on weekends and special occasions, like museum visits.

After the photo exploded on social media, he received a message from a friend questioning if he was the latest internet detective sensation.

“People were saying, ‘You’re a star now,'” Delvaux said, reflecting on his surprise that a single photo could garner so much attention in just a few days.

Initially, he chose to stay away from the internet, keeping his social media private to avoid the spotlight. Some folks online speculated that the picture might have been digitally manipulated.

After a few days filled with theories and discussions, Delvaux stepped back into public view, sharing his story and reentering the limelight.

“When I told journalists my age, they seemed very taken aback,” he said.

On his Instagram, Delvaux noted he’s open to future PR opportunities.

“In strange situations, a conventional detective might not have a clue,” he pondered, suggesting that people often think of someone else altogether.
