Tony Romo claims Patriots are 'DTF' in another strange remark

Romo’s DTF Comment During Patriots-Buccaneers Broadcast Raises Eyebrows

During the CBS broadcast of the Patriots-Buccaneers game on Sunday, Tony Romo made quite the unusual remark while discussing Mike Vrabel’s impressive New England team, now sporting an 8-2 record.

“This team is DTF, Jim,” he stated to his broadcast partner Jim Nantz, explaining that DTF stands for “Detail, Toughness, and Finish.”

Nantz humorously noted that this was somewhat aligned with what Vrabel was conveying, suggesting that he thought the “T” might refer to “Technique.”

Romo’s comment quickly spread online, echoing a previous week’s odd soundbite. One NFL insider remarked, “Tony Romo said the Patriots are DTF… I don’t think you watch Jersey Shore?” while another tweeted, “Okay, who told Tony Romo that’s what ‘dtf’ means?”

For context, this acronym was popularized by the cast of “Jersey Shore,” typically relating to their dating escapades.

In the actual game, the Patriots managed to secure a 28-23 victory against the Buccaneers, who were on a bye week.

After a disappointing season last year with a 4-13 record under coach Jerod Mayo, Vrabel has successfully turned the team around since being appointed in January.

Romo, who has a knack for making headlines with his commentary, previously attracted attention for a groan during the Bills’ win over the Chiefs.

This dynamic shouldn’t overshadow the fact that Romo has been an effective analyst since his transition from an NFL player to television commentator in 2017, having played quarterback for the Cowboys for 14 seasons.
