TikTok user 'Tea Tyme' who reportedly hit a pedestrian during a livestream seeks donations

A TikTok user accused of fatally striking a 59-year-old man while live streaming has stirred anger online by soliciting donations.

The content creator, known as Tee Time—her real name being Ty Nesha—was driving in Zion, Illinois, roughly 105 miles from Chicago, on November 3. During her livestream, she suddenly heard a loud noise and exclaimed, “Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa… I just hit someone!”

A child, who appears to have been with the 43-year-old man at the time, can be heard asking, “What was that?” before the stream abruptly ends.

Darren Lucas, 59, was hit in a crosswalk by a 2015 Ford Edge. Police reported that the woman called 911 and stayed at the scene to talk to investigators.

Lucas, who worked at a nearby grocery store, was quickly taken to Vista East Medical Center but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.

Zion Police Lt. Paul Kerilli shared that neither drugs nor alcohol contributed to the incident. He later noted that, as of now, no charges have been filed.

Investigators believe Nesha’s livestream might hold important information, though Kerilli did not elaborate on how the video came to their attention.

According to Lucas’s son-in-law, Chris King, he was a “great friend” and “the nicest guy I know,” highlighting that he had a knack for finding humor even during tough times.

In a troubling twist, Nesha resurfaced online to request donations for her mental health, stating, “If you guys would like to support me while I’m on mental leave, please leave my CashApp out there.”

She continued by saying, “I know I don’t like asking for anything, but if you… find it in your hearts and want to support me, my CashApp is right there,” just three days after the tragic event.

In a bizarre shift, she asserted, “I’m fine. I’m taking things one day at a time,” before plugging her upcoming album series.

As her appeal gained traction, angry commentators blasted her for lacking empathy. One remarked, “Cash app?? What if you step on someone’s grandpa???” while another added, “Oh so despicable!!! She has no regrets!!!”

It’s worth noting that TikTok has a policy against live streaming while driving, though users can reportedly bypass these restrictions with certain features, and Nesha was seen using one during the incident.

TikTok hasn’t commented on the situation.

Nesha hasn’t responded to inquiries, but her Linktree description calls her “an up-and-coming entrepreneur with extensive talent in the writing industry.”
