Minister and Daughter Die in Plane Crash While Delivering Aid to Jamaica After Hurricane

Tragic Plane Crash Claims Father and Daughter Heading for Hurricane Relief

A father and daughter who were en route to Jamaica for hurricane relief efforts lost their lives on Monday when their small aircraft crashed in Florida.

The crash occurred around 10:20 a.m. in Coral Springs, specifically near the 5000 block of Highway 57 Northwest, as reported by NBC Miami. The plane went down in a lake that was bordered by residential homes.

The deceased have been identified as 53-year-old Alexander Wurm, the CEO of a ministry called “Ignite the Fire,” and his 22-year-old daughter, Serena.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported on the ground. Emergency personnel responded promptly, and a dive team searched the lake for any victims but initially found no one. Later, authorities confirmed the tragic loss of both individuals.

Aerial footage captured just after the crash showed the plane striking a broken fence, hinting at what might have happened during the incident.

Authorities continued to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash on Tuesday.

In a heartfelt Facebook post, the local fire department expressed their sorrow over the loss. The post described Alexander as a man known for his warmth and kindness, highlighting his dedication to serving others and spreading the gospel of Jesus. He traveled extensively, working to provide support and compassion to those in need, leaving a lasting impact on many lives.

Serena was noted for following in her father’s humanitarian footsteps and became a source of inspiration through her own commitment to helping others. Their final journey served as a poignant reminder of the enduring power of service and selflessness.

The recent hurricane, named Melissa, has been devastating, with reports of at least 67 fatalities linked to the storm, 28 of whom were in Jamaica. Following the disaster, several individuals from Oklahoma, who were on vacation, began assisting local residents with the aftermath, as noted by Breitbart News.

According to NBC News, the hurricane’s fierce winds and flash flooding resulted in historic damage not only to Jamaica but also to Cuba and other Caribbean nations like Haiti and the Dominican Republic.
