Jerry Jones' daughter supports Bad Bunny's Super Bowl performance amid NFL fans' backlash.

The daughter of Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has expressed her support for the NFL’s choice to feature Bad Bunny at the Super Bowl halftime show. This decision has faced backlash from some individuals who label the artist as an anti-American figure.

Charlotte Jones, who is also a leader of the renowned Dallas Cowboys cheerleading squad, described the selection of Bad Bunny as “amazing.” She emphasized the immigrant roots of America during a podcast interview, suggesting that the country is built on the diverse contributions of those who came here. In her view, this is something to celebrate. Jones mentioned that despite Bad Bunny being a somewhat controversial figure, football aims to keep politics at bay.

When discussing Bad Bunny’s involvement, Jones said, “I think it’s great. The Latino fanbase is significant, and I want the best performer in the world at the Super Bowl.” She pointed out that the event has a global audience and noted the importance of engaging top-tier talent.

However, podcast host Katie Miller questioned Jones’s stance, suggesting that given the divisiveness of Jones’s own comments related to President Trump, it would make sense to choose an artist who has little exposure to political issues for such a major platform.

Jones rebutted Miller’s observation by stating, “Football isn’t about politics,” stressing instead the focus would be on enjoying the game and the music, rather than political commentary. While she believed the Super Bowl should serve as a unifying experience, she acknowledged that Bad Bunny’s brand is inherently tied to political discourse.

Bad Bunny, a Puerto Rican artist, has made political statements through his music and actions. He has announced plans not to tour in the U.S. throughout his 2025-2026 tour, largely due to issues surrounding immigration policies, citing concerns for fans who might be apprehended by ICE while attending his events.

Despite Jones’s reassurances regarding the NFL’s decision, some rumors suggested that several teams, including the Cowboys, sought to change the performer. Nonetheless, the NFL maintained that it had thoroughly weighed the decision and would not alter its plans, with Commissioner Roger Goodell acknowledging that backlash is often part and parcel of choosing any artist for such a high-profile event.
