John Fetterman Surprises Dana Bash by Explaining the Left's Harshness

Fetterman Discusses Left’s Harsh Criticism

Senator John Fetterman, from Pennsylvania, surprised CNN’s Dana Bash during a Wednesday appearance by sharing insights into how he perceives the political left’s treatment of him compared to the right.

Bash quoted a passage from Fetterman’s recent book regarding “internal politics.” She noted that he described the harshest critique he faces as coming from the far left, which she found “surprising” given his affiliation with the Democratic Party. She then sought further clarification on this perspective.

Fetterman recounted a conversation with his digital team about the nature of social media interactions. “We use all the platforms…What’s the toughest? What’s the most personal?” he asked them, to which they quickly responded, “Oh, Blue Sky.” He elaborated that while the right might use aggressive language, the left’s comments are more extreme, with remarks like wishing him dead or expressing hope for his health issues to worsen. He mentioned that some individuals even create gifs mocking his health struggles.

Bash reacted with disbelief, exclaiming, “Oh my god.”

On a separate note, actress Cheryl Hines and comedian Bill Maher recently pointed out on “Club Random” how the Democrats seem to have become increasingly “mean.” Maher acknowledged that he has noticed this shift in tone, and Hines concurred, calling them “very mean.”

The left’s harshness was further highlighted following the assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk on September 10, with several individuals losing their jobs due to online comments that either celebrated or vilified him posthumously.

Moreover, Democrats proceeded to elect Virginia Attorney General despite the emergence of violent text messages from a leaked conversation in 2022. The text included threats against Republican officials, expressing wishes for violence against them and their families.
