Judges decide that luxury real estate agents Tal, Oren, and their brother Alon will face sex trafficking charges.

Charges of sex trafficking against luxury real estate brokers Tal, Oren, and Aron Alexander may proceed, following a federal judge’s decision on Tuesday to dismiss most of their motions to have the case quashed.

Manhattan federal judge Valerie Caproni determined that the allegations, which include accusations of multiple rapes and sexual assaults over the span of more than ten years, are enough to warrant a trial.

This decision, originally sealed when it was published on October 17, represents a significant setback for the defense, which aimed to prevent the case from reaching a jury.

According to prosecutors, over 60 women have alleged that at least one of the brothers assaulted them, with 11 individuals filing civil suits.

The brothers are facing ten felonies, including conspiracy and sex trafficking.

They maintain their innocence while remaining in custody since their arrest in December.

Prosecutors assert that from 2009 to 2021, the Alexanders lured women into dangerous situations by frequenting luxury hotels, traveling overseas, and attending exclusive events, subsequently drugging, assaulting, and raping them.

In several reported instances, victims were moved across state lines or internationally, often drugged and restrained before being attacked.

One victim recounted meeting Oren Alexander at a lavish Miami party in 2018, where he offered to show her around, only to take her into a bedroom and violently assault her.

In another case, a woman described how Tal Alexander invited her to a New York party in 2013, where after receiving an alcoholic drink, she felt dizzy and was subsequently raped by both Tal and Oren.

The lawyers for the brothers contended that the claims were too vague, unspecific, and outdated for prosecution, but Judge Caproni largely dismissed these arguments.

She did agree to drop one count of attempted sex trafficking from June 2009 due to the statute of limitations but allowed the remaining charges, acknowledging that this might lead to unusual outcomes.

The judge also denied the defense’s request to exclude evidence gathered from one brother’s New York apartment, along with data from cloud storage and social media accounts, all of which can now be examined in court.

A search conducted at Tal Alexander’s apartment revealed several hard drives containing explicit videos and images, including clips where women appeared under the influence of substances, according to prosecutors.

Some footage showed the brothers and other men manipulating women during sexual acts without full participation from the women.

The Alexanders were initially arrested in Florida in December 2024, facing initial charges related to conspiracy and sex trafficking. As the case progressed, a grand jury issued a new indictment in May, leading to a subsequent arrest when they returned to court in June.

Making their mark in the luxury real estate sector through their roles at Douglas Elliman, the brothers have aspirations of launching their own firm. Aron, not a twin, has been involved in the family security business.

In addition to the criminal charges, they are facing several civil lawsuits stemming from similar allegations.

The defense team has characterized these lawsuits as financially motivated and accused the law firm Morgan & Morgan of orchestrating a criminal investigation.

Tal Alexander’s attorneys claimed they’ve observed a systematic push encouraging women to exploit past experiences with the Alexanders for monetary gain. They described the lawsuits as frivolous attempts at extortion, especially as they coincide with the expiration of the statute’s look-back period.

Currently, the brothers are being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, the same facility as another high-profile inmate.

The newspaper has reached out to the Alexander brothers for their comment on the situation.
