K-Pop Star HyunA Collapses During Performance

Singer HyunA fell during a performance on November 9, raising concerns among her fans.

While performing her popular song “Bubble Pop” at a music festival in Macau, China, she collapsed on stage. Afterward, she reached out to her followers on social media to express her apologies.

“I’m really, really sorry. It’s been a while since our last performance, so I wanted to show you a good side,” she explained in a post originally written in Korean.

Musician’s Health Concerns

In a separate incident, Grammy-winning artist Nelly Furtado announced that he would be withdrawing from performances for the foreseeable future after facing accusations of body shaming. He mentioned he “remembers nothing” about the performance in question and added, “From now on, I want to gain more physical strength and continue to work hard. I hope it goes my way, but I’ll try…!!”

Following HyunA’s collapse, fans flooded her comment section with supportive messages. One fan noted, “The problem isn’t stamina or professionalism. K-pop companies must understand that taking care of their idols’ health is essential. Idols look best when they’re healthy and happy, rather than when they’re overworked.” Another wrote, “The person who told you to apologize has no soul. You need to listen to your body—take breaks when necessary. You’re too young for this. Focus on your mental and physical health.”

Social Media and Personal Struggles

HyunA’s fall drew extra attention after she shared a series of personal posts about her weight loss journey. Just days before the performance, she posted on Instagram mentioning that she still has a “long road” ahead to reach her ideal weight. Earlier in October, she had shared photos indicating her commitment to losing more weight.

HyunA started her K-pop career in 2007 as part of the Wonder Girls and made her solo debut in 2010 with “Change.” She gained further fame with her EP “Bubble Pop!” released in 2011, and she has since collaborated with various sub-units like Trouble Maker and Triple H.
