Jordyn Woods Celebrates Karl-Anthony Towns’ 30th Birthday with a Special Surprise
Jordyn Woods really went all out for Karl-Anthony Towns’ 30th birthday. She decided to gift him a new car—one that unexpectedly mirrored the model her late mother drove during her childhood.
Tragically, Jacqueline Towns passed away from a coronavirus infection in April 2020.
Woods shared her experience, stating, “During the summer, Karl asked me what car I would drive for a day if I could pick any. I told him I’d choose the one my mom had when I was a kid. He remembered that.” She then undertook quite a mission over the past few months to locate the car, arrange for it to be shipped, and have it repaired so she could unveil it on his special day.
A video shared by Woods captures Towns’ delightful response: “This is amazing. This is the best thing ever!”
The couple enjoyed a private birthday gathering, inviting friends and teammates like Josh Hart and Mikal Bridges. The Knicks, having just beaten the Heat 140-132 at Madison Square Garden, were able to let loose for the celebration.
Interestingly, Woods also played a part in creating Towns’ cake, inspired by his trading cards, through B Cake—a Black-owned bakery in New York.
Towns and Woods, who were friends for years before their romantic relationship blossomed, celebrated their fifth anniversary this past May. They initially connected through mutual friends, and their bond deepened during the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.
