Eccentric Wig Maker Reaches Plea Deal in Brooklyn Murder Case

A wig maker, whose actions led to the tragic deaths of a Brooklyn mother and her two young daughters, has struck a plea deal, which has raised eyebrows among prosecutors.

Miriam Yarimi, 33, recently entered a guilty plea to manslaughter and has been sentenced by Judge Danny Chen to a prison term of three to nine years, as per the court’s records.

This plea agreement is notably less severe than the maximum 15-year sentence that Brooklyn prosecutors were aiming for. They plan to submit a letter ahead of Wednesday’s sentencing, outlining their reasons for advocating for a longer sentence, as stated by officials.

The incident occurred in March when Yarimi was driving his luxury Audi A4 down Ocean Parkway and collided with an Uber vehicle. This crash tragically resulted in the deaths of the mother, Natasha Saada, and her daughters, Diana, 7, and Deborah, 5, while severely injuring 4-year-old Philip.

Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez expressed concern over the reckless driving that led to this tragedy, emphasizing that while the proposed sentence isn’t as long as desired, it sends a message about the seriousness of such offenses.

The crash has left a mark on the close-knit Jewish community in South Brooklyn, amplifying ongoing worries about the dangers of Ocean Parkway.

Yarimi, who operates a wig business, has an extensive record of traffic violations—over 93, including 20 for speeding—resulting in fines exceeding $10,000. Interestingly, her car had a license plate that read “WIGM8KER.”

Following the accident, reports indicate that she went on a bizarre rant to first responders, claiming she felt “possessed” and asserting that there was “a demon inside” her.

In her interactions with police, she reportedly said things like, “There’s a devil in my eyes,” and challenged them to prove her guilt, denying any intent to hurt anyone.

Friends noted that Yarimi was raised within a religious Jewish community but showed erratic behavior, which contrasts sharply with her flashy social media presence that showcased high-end fashion and extravagant vacations.

Notably, she had previously won a $2 million lawsuit against the New York City Police Department in 2023, alleging sexual abuse by an officer when she was just 14 years old.

Her social media accounts also feature unsettling conspiracy theories alongside more typical posts, portraying a complex and troubled persona.
