Jon Stewart Thinks Trump Has Secrets in Epstein Files: “He Doesn’t Want This Information Released”

Jon Stewart’s Take on Trump’s Epstein Files Comments

Jon Stewart has expressed his disapproval of Donald Trump’s recent suggestions to release the Epstein files.

Following Trump’s shift in stance during a TruthSocial post, where he urged House Republicans to vote for the files’ release, Stewart took a moment on Monday’s show to address this. He reminded viewers that as the president, Trump always had the power to declassify those files.

Stewart pointed out, “If he had nothing to hide, he could have always declassified these files himself and made them public. How do we know this? A legal expert named Donald ‘Jurisprudence’ Trump said so.”

The Comedy Central host shared a clip of Trump boasting back in 2022, claiming, “If you’re president of the United States, you can declassify it just by saying declassify. Just thinking about it.”

Stewart suggested that he doesn’t believe Trump is genuinely interested in releasing the Epstein files. “It’s clear he doesn’t want these things out there,” he stated.

During another part of his monologue, Stewart mentioned an email from Mark Epstein, Jeffrey’s brother, who told Jeffrey to “ask Steve Bannon if President Putin has a photo of Mr. Trump blowing his hair.”

“I know what you’re probably thinking, ‘Did Jeffrey Epstein have a brother?’” Stewart quipped. “He did! Apparently so.” He then clarified that the “Baba” referenced was not in relation to former President Bill Clinton, as many had assumed.

“Thank you for your clarification. I have no further questions, thank you,” Stewart concluded.

Additionally, host Josh Johnson from the Daily Show recently commented on the Epstein files, following Megyn Kelly and other media figures who seemed to downplay Epstein’s crimes.

In one clip, Kelly questioned the nature of Epstein’s interests, suggesting he wasn’t focused on young children, but rather “very young teenage types.” Johnson responded with sarcasm, asking, “How on earth did Megyn Kelly become a lawyer?” and mockingly branded her remarks as “diet pedophilia.”

Daily Show airs on weekday nights at 11/10c on Comedy Central, with new episodes available for streaming the following day on Paramount+.
