An Overview of Trump’s Busy Day with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman

Trump to Host Saudi Crown Prince at the White House

President Donald Trump is set to welcome Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to the White House on Tuesday. The agenda will be packed with discussions on investments, ongoing commitments made in May, defense sales, and more.

The Crown Prince will participate in a bilateral meeting with President Trump in the Oval Office at 11:45 a.m., followed by a lunch in the Cabinet Room. Later that evening, he will join Trump and First Lady Melania Trump for dinner in the East Room, starting at 7:15 p.m.

White House Deputy Press Secretary Anna Kelly stated, “President Trump welcomes Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud to the White House, and the two leaders look forward to an official working visit.” She highlighted that during Trump’s recent trip to Saudi Arabia, the U.S. secured $600 billion in historic investments. Americans can expect further substantial deals related to technology, manufacturing, critical minerals, and defense.

This meeting comes after an earlier interaction on May 13, during Trump’s state visit to Saudi Arabia, where significant U.S. investments were secured. Saudi Arabia’s commitment of $600 billion marks it as the fourth largest investment since Trump took office, which includes a substantial $142 billion deal for military equipment and services from various U.S. defense companies.

White House officials indicated that the agreements on Tuesday would encompass billions in investments for U.S. AI infrastructure, enhanced collaboration on civil nuclear energy, and the fulfillment of prior U.S. investment commitments from Saudi Arabia. Additionally, defense sales will aim to bolster cooperation between the U.S. and Saudi Arabia.

In the 10 months since returning to office, President Trump has frequently hosted world leaders at the White House. Recent visits include Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, along with leaders from Finland, Canada, Australia, and Ukraine since early October.
