Judge Takes Tough Stance on Bronx Rapper Accused of Animal Cruelty

A Bronx judge is taking a firm approach with an aspiring rapper accused of cruelly killing a pet cat in what appears to be a twisted ritual.

During a court appearance on Tuesday, Bronx District Judge Linda Paust Lopez told 26-year-old David Mosley, who uses the stage name Ububal Church, that he could be offered a plea deal related to his disturbing social media actions. However, this would only happen if he accepted the maximum sentence for the animal cruelty charges.

“I will not consider a plea bargain for an animal cruelty charge unless it includes the maximum penalty,” Lopez stated firmly. She also suggested that Mosley should undergo a mental health evaluation.

Mosley faces charges including criminal mischief, aggravated animal cruelty, and improper disposal of a dead animal. He drew public outrage after posting a video of the cat’s death online on October 16, claiming he intended to conduct another “sacrifice” on Halloween.

“Be there or be fair,” he declared on social media, expressing frustration that no one attended his previous event but insisted that this upcoming “sacrifice” would draw a crowd.

Law enforcement apprehended Mosley and placed him under custody shortly thereafter.

Lopez made it clear that the animal cruelty charge carries a two-year prison term, and she was insistent on this being applied.

During the hearing, Mosley, dressed in a black hoodie and mask, required police protection from angry animal rights advocates who were protesting outside.

Activist John Cortez, 56, remarked, “A sentence is better than none, but if he has a history of mental illness, he should face more than just two years.”

Cortez added that Mosley “needs to be in a facility where he can receive appropriate help,” asserting that he leads a satanic cult and engages in animal torture and sacrifices.

Sentencing for Mosley is scheduled for December 2nd.
